”….the marching band.” Pinching the bridge of his nose at her comment, he said nothing in retaliation, though noted her ire at the mentioning of her weight. ”………My point is, if the Cutter can switch bodies, this way we can track and follow him no matter what new body he takes. The new one will key to his ‘bio-rhythm’ as he adapts to his new body. He won’t know we can track him, however. This gives us a slight advantage over him. But, it’s one we have to be keen in the use of.”
Maria placed a hand against her chest and was tickled to find that her heartbeat was, near as she could tell, pretty close to the hustle and bustle marching band. She silently lamented that she probably would not be given the opportunity to check out anyone else’s heartbeat.
“Nice.” she muttered.
”Your Stand allows you to produce a gas that knocks people out? I think I can have Real Hip-Hop protect us from its affects should you need to blanket the battlefield. I’d surround us all in a field of vibrational energy, keeping the gas away while giving the Cutter little room to maneuver.”
Maria’s eyes lit up at Hammer’s suggestion, “Wow, really? I don’t know my exact range, but that seems like it could make us a pretty deadly duo!” she enthused.
Just then, two more people joined the crew. Noticing the words “Feelgood Inc” printed on the helmeted one’s arm, she pointed at him as subtly as she could manage and shot a questioning look Meryl’s way. It did not seem like they were affiliated with the enemy group, seeing how they were being quite friendly with David, even if it was unrequited.
Next came someone else with the good sense to come with a disguise. The joy that brought was slightly diminished when Maria noticed that the boy in the costume was about 10. Watching him argue with David, Maria naturally sided with the kid, who was the perceived underdog. In any case, the bickering ended pretty quickly and David went on to explain the plan. Yorke then made a few amendments.
“I see. I’m all for this plan… but what should we do with the kid?” she asked, sending a worried look Winsor’s way.
"Should I take him out?"

He glanced at Cabinet Man with a long stare and the pause felt uncomfortably long.
"I wonder if we might have a simple method within our grasp..."
"I wonder if we might have a simple method within our grasp..."
Cabinet Man, who had merely stayed quiet and nodded when it was appropriate, instantly felt the detective’s glare. Even so he refused to look up.
“As a matter of fact, being the world-class hacker that I am, I managed to get the Cutter’s phone number.” he said, holding up his phone, before letting out a harsh metallic cackle, “However, I was promised a game and I’m not sure I can work with someone who breaks their promises…”
CM began rapidly tapping away at his phone.
A few moments later, Yorke would receive a text.
