Kinks had managed to get into the library proper while the user repaired the floor which was made of red mahogany (not that Kinks knew what that was). He listened with a quiet, smouldering fury as the teeth described why he'd harmed Remi. The enjoyment he'd found in it. As the teeth opened to laugh, Pinball Wizard's arm shot forward and fired two balls directly at the mouth at an incredible pace.
"Shut up. Don't you talk about her like that," Kinks was trembling now with barely suppressed rage as he lunged at the smiling figure.
"Shut up. Don't you talk about her like that," Kinks was trembling now with barely suppressed rage as he lunged at the smiling figure.
The mouth turned into a scowl and hurriedly side stepped the incoming projectiles with a loud gritting of their teeth. Kid was losing his temper. With the canon attack the punk used earlier, the user wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing, though as he heard Kinks defend Remi, he decided it was a good thing.
"Oh? And why not?" Snickering teeth bared into a smirk. "Don't tell me you like her? Gone as pink as your hair for her?" Their voice took on a teasing sing-songy tone as the individual sections began to twirl in slow spins. "Oh how sweet! You're trying to be the knight in shining armor!"
If Kinks was anything like he used to be when he was a teen himself, this was gonna drive him nuts. Cloud his mind, push him to make stupid mistakes. Trip him up and make this fight easier to win. All he had to do was keep this taunting up and he'd have the kid by his neck in no time!
"Pinky's got a girlfriend! Pinky's got a girlfriend!" The sections began to shift slightly up and down in a sort of dance as their user chanted in a horribly off-tune voice. He'd even tilted and flicked the section Kinks was standing in to pelt him with a few books here and there just to try and tick him off some more. All he needed was one big mistake, then he'd have this kids head on a silver platter for the boss!
Then he might finally get some god damn vacation days.

Whether or not Remi was aware of it, Meryl was right. There was an inner spark within her that came from the Haze family genes; a great stubborness combined with a motivation like no other. The only thing Remi seemed to lack was the aggression and passion her parents both displayed. These traits between the two of them had unintentionally lead Remi down a more mild and passive route, and neither of them had what was needed to help her gain the faith and confidence she needed to turn the spark into a flame. Perhaps that was a reason she'd been able to grow fond of Kinks so quickly. His friendly disposition was a relief to her and kept her from shying away from him as she did to most others. It made it easy to open up to him. Remi never had anyone she could do that to, not even with Mellow.
"Thanks." Remi gave Meryl a grateful smile as she pushed to her feet and found her legs no longer screamed in protest. She was rubbing her leg in awe before her father's statement caused her to snap her head up at him with shocked eyes and a slack jaw. She'd never heard her father like this before. He'd always been the one to keep his composure. To see otherwise was...scary. Her hand fisted in the hem of her shirt. Something was off about that tone before. It sounded familiar. Like she'd heard it before...
Andrew didn't seem to mind the attention he'd drawn and merely widened his smirk. "Detective, extracting the info is what is going to kill him." His mannerisms shifted. The brunt of his weight shifted to his heels, his chin tilted up in a slight arrogance that wasn't there before, and his hands went to rest in the pockets of his pajama pants. "I won't be gentle getting it. Besides, we don't need him afterwards. Be doing everyone else a favor by getting rid of him." Even his tone had changed to a more light and casual one and the cadence of his words had become more akin to the rhythm of street slang.
When the floor shifted, he didn't flinch. Just stood standing and let the motion of Yorke's stand catching him rock him in place. "Alice in Chains? Neat name. Though don't hold back if you don't have to." With that he let Meryl remove his blind and begin treatment. The injury wasn't too bad. Two black eyes with some nasty looking cuts from some rings the attacker wore. "Green. Like a leaf in the sun," he'd said. "And a little near-sighted. Though, thinkin' on it now, I think he really only uses the glasses as a fashion thing."
Remi tugged on Meryl's sleeve and hid behind her. "Can you check him for a concussion?" She muttered as her father rubbed his eyes. "He did get hit pretty hard by a table when we were in there..."
Andrew's eyes shot open and he looked at the three with not one but two sets of eyes. His pupils had dilated to large circles and revealed a second set of neon green eyes within them. He turned to Yorke with a wicked grin and stretched a hand out in greeting while the other reached up to smooth his hair back in a slick style. The complete change in demeanor and attempt to change appearance could only mean one thing.
This poor-excuse of a human being was his stand.
"Nice to finally meet you, Detective. Name's Phil Resch. Just like Andrew," Should Yorke have taken the hand the grip would tighten into a crushing vice.
"Except I don't share his...empathy."

The force of the explosions pushed the section back and, as a result, strangely pulled the others along with it as it moved. Even though all the sections now had a space between them it was apparent that they were still somehow connected. But how they were still remained a question. The sudden nudge was enough to break the users string of taunts and he gave a sharp growl. If Kinks had been that detective guy from earlier, he would have seen past his stand with that attack! Even as it were that little trick probably gave the punk a clue! He'd have to switch tings up soon. Either that or make things more distracting.
Suddenly the sections stopped their spin and began to slowly turn in an entirely new direction! Rather than the clockwise or counter-clockwise direction they'd been using before, they now began to do front flips. While Yorke and the others would find themselves safe with Alice in Chains holding them down, if a bit dizzy, Kinks was at a disadvantage. Now there was no constant floor! It was only there for a few seconds before a large jump would be necessary to stay up until the cieling-now-floor provided a place to land.
Unless Kinks found a way to anchor himself down quick, it'd be a long fall down....
