The rush of air as the trains streamed past lifted and fluttered a newspaper past a cold body lying face down on the platform. A few clustered commuters gingerly approached the body, suit wearing men and smartly clothed women all in a rush to get to work but a handful could feel the wrongness in the air. One particularly brave young woman very carefully tapped the body on the shoulder to try and rouse them
"Hey... Excuse me, sir?"
She pulled the shoulder back and the body flopped onto its back. The woman screamed.
The body's neck was torn open with a huge, gaping wound, his eyes rolled back into his head and a gurgle of dried blood smeared over his face. He was quite clearly dead. And he wasn't the only one...
--
"Five bodies, in all," Lt. Molk sighed "across different platforms. One was even found in Grand Central Station with it's eyes..." Molk turned away, his hand subconsciously covering his eyes as if to avert the poor victims grisly fate. He turned back with a grimace and continued. "The point is, these killings don't have the Cutter's M.O and we don't have time to divert the manpower and intelligence to it with that lunatic still loose. We were lucky to get in ahead of the press and keep the story to a minimum. We do have the funds to outsource this to a 'retired' detective who might need a favour."
There was a pointed silence.
"Fine," Lt. Molk sighed "I would owe you one. I'll be honest, this case might be beyond you, even. All five victims were from completely different backgrounds. It went from a rich socialite who'd been out drinking to a late night labourer just making his way home to just some... kid. The methods of death were all brutal, macabre, but inherently different. There's nothing linking the victims, no consistent M.O, if it weren't the fact they were all discovered at the same time I wouldn't even think they were related. Look, this is off the books alright but I came to you because... I don't know if we can solve this case. It just seems so..."
"Bizarre," Yorke said with a smile.
Lt. Molk simply nodded. It was as he said. The case was too bizarre for the police, especially with the Cutter still loose. And so they'd come to someone who might be able to.

The wind whipped past once more, Yorke's hand reflexively went to press his bowler hat down even as his tie whipped and rippled in the gust. He heard a sneeze besides him and glanced at the bright pink hair of his erstwhile partner who was blowing his nose in an already heavily used piece of toilet paper. Yorke begrudgingly handed him his handkerchief.
"Thanks, Mr. Yorke," Kinks sniffed as he blew his nose once more.
"You should get it over with and ask the florist out," Yorke sighed "Spare yourself the grief."
Kinks made a noise of loud surprise which prompted a sigh from Yorke.
"I've observed you have hayfever and tend to avoid areas of high pollen. That, plus the fact there is an attractive florist who recently started working at Greens rather close to the office and it's painfully obvious why you're suffering. Here." Yorke handed the amazed Kinks a box of hayfever relief tablets and watched as the boy quickly inhaled them. It was somewhat unkind, but he was never very pleased to see Kinks' amazement at his deductions. Like impressing a toddler with your mathematical prowess. Fortunately, the boy had other qualities besides intellect.
"So why are we here, Mr. Yorke?" Kinks asked now his nose was somewhat more relieved.
"It's simple, Kinks. All the victims had one unifying feature, the time of their discovery. With that in mind it is likely there is another such feature. The subway was very busy in the morning, as it always is, but all the bodies were found near simultaneously. But there's the thing, they could not all have been deposited at the [same time] across so many stops. It would be impossible without accomplices who would have been witnessed by the crowds, to dump five bodies so far apart at the [same time]. And so, my next assertion, if they were all left at the same time it must be the work of a [Stand]. And one other thing. If they all appeared at the same time, it is likely they disappeared at the same time too. While Molk didn't realise it, all five victims were catching late trains and so we are here now to do the same.
Now, we just need to work out how they were murdered and how the Stand took them and the case is solved." Yorke smiled, unaware his deductions had a few logical leaps. Kinks was too enthralled to highlight them as the duo stood on the platform... and waited...
((OOC: I think we got room for 2-3 other people so it's about 4-5 Users over all. If anyone wants to be the villain then lemme know! Otherwise, I was gonna NPC one))
