Name: Meryl Feelgood
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Occupation: Mortician
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: Meryl is a slight woman, only 5 feet tall and with a slim frame. She's got a fairly pretty face but this is usually hidden by a scowl at whatever she's looking at. She wears her black hair in a neat bob and often has her bangs pinned back to make it easier to see.
Clothing Appearance: Near always wearing a labcoat and blue latex gloves, Meryl is rarely away from work and even when she is she tends to wear gloves out of habit. Perhaps unusually, she also tends to wear safety glasses very frequently though they don't serve much purpose in the morgue.
Personality: Meryl is not a fighter, she is a healer. She will repeat this statement over and over again if she's ever found in combat. Possessing a caustic wit, stubborn mannerisms and a generally misanthropic outlook, it might be a surprise to find out that Meryl cares deeply for people and will go to any lengths to preserve life. Her Stand is a manifestation of the dualistic nature she has between her desire to help and her desire to create. She rarely uses it unless someone has been injured in a way that modern medicine absolutely could not heal and helps Detective Yorke because he's, rather unheroically, blackmailing her. She's a keen fan of anime and Japanese culture, as well.
Weapons/Tools: Medical textbooks by the boatload.
Skills: Meryl has an incredible bredth of knowledge about medicine, science and particularly anatomy (primarily human but a working knowledge of quite a few animals too). She's also a talented sketch artist and speaks around three languages.
Are they a Stand User: Yes
Quotes: "Get out of my Morgue." "Stop Talking." "I hate people."
Their Goal: Not heavily motivated, Meryl would be happy just to have Yorke out of her life.
Their Secret: Her Stand, primarily, as well as the fact she's had a few portraits displayed in galleries under a pseudonym. (Yorke discovered this secret and is now blackmailing her for assistance). She's also very secretive of her past, particularly involving her father...
Weaknesses: Pacifism is the biggest problem in terms of fighting, misanthropic demeanour socially.
Strengths: Stubborn, inventive and love of life.
Bio: Meryl's history is mostly unknown, she keeps to herself and has a medical doctorate despite her young age. What little IS known is because of Yorke analysing her when they met. To paraphrase the exchange-
"Meryl was born in Canada and moved here with her mother when she was 8, she was raised peculiarly as she was taught not to trust people from a young age and she ended up becoming somewhat withdrawn and developing a genuine dislike of people that conflicts with her wish to help them. She developed her artistic talents as an outlet for this frustration and had a brief stint in graffiti before knuckling down and going to medical school.
While she graduated, Meryl never mastered bedside manner which was little hindrance owing to her inherent brilliance. She has also had her Stand since birth which is an interesting reflection of how she would later develop. She works now as a mortician because her anti-social demeanour would allow nothing else, yet her exceptional abilities were still in high demand. She uses said stand to make sure all the bodies she processes remain in a good condition! Whatever her father's situation, Meryl clearly feels uncomfortable discussing him.
She still pursues artistic subjects off her own back and has had a few pieces noticed and installed in galleries under the pseudonym "Gal Gorgeous". She is intensely against her limited work associates being aware of this for fear of the attention it would bring. A good chip to hold over someone when you need their aid..."
*Yorke exits cooly*
And to further quote Meryl's response
"... I hate that guy."
