Name: Maria Maria (first and last name)
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Occupation: Artist
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: Standing at a towering 7 feet and weighing 175 kg, Maria is the very definition of a gentle giant. Her black hair is shaped into a bowl cut with a rounded bob that frames her round face. She carries herself as if she is constantly at attention, with her back and neck completely straight, but her arms swing by her side idly whenever they are not in use. Her eyes are brown, so dark that they come close to being black, and always have a slightly distant look to them. Maria has smooth ebony skin and completely white teeth with unusually pronounced canines. Mary is heavily perfumed and always smells of strawberries.
Clothing Appearance: Maria’s wardrobe is made up almost entirely long, flowing black dresses with brightly coloured highlights and thick, fluffy coats. Most of Maria's clothes are made of silk, or other soft materials.
Personality: Maria is a fairly easy-going, slightly spacy woman. Even though she is very driven when it comes to her overarching goal of creating a single, perfect painting that will propel into the history books, she is otherwise very lacking in motivation. Maria is also intensely curious, which combines with her laidback nature and lack of focus to make her something of a wanderer. Her curiosity also extends to other people for the sake of both her art and her own satisfaction. Although she often takes the position of a passive observer, Maria is also keen to help others achieve their own goals. She does not view this as selfless, because she believes that much can be learned from the success of others and that learning as much as possible is the key to her own victory.
In conversation, Maria speaks softly, but with an air of confidence and knowingness that can either come across as encouraging or condescending.
Tools: A pencil and sketchpad, which help her control her stand. She also carries a camera with her at all times.
Skills: Painting, especially lyrical abstraction and magical realism.
Are they a stand user: Yes
Quotes: “I want to be one of those artists who’s famous for a real long time after they die, like Van Gough or Da Vinci, y'know?”
“No no, don’t quit. Come now, you want this right? We’re almost at the end, I can feel it. We just need to get past this last hurdle.”
“Huh, wha- Oh, I get it! Ho-ho-ho!”
“Hmm. Yeah, that does make sense, yes.”
“I see. Well if it’s like that then yeah, you’re right!”
Goals:
To live an exciting life full of unusual experiences.
To create a work of art that will be remembered forever.
Secret:
Maria has many draws full of ‘raunchy’ paintings. She hides them because she feels they wouldn’t fit her image if she ever becomes famous.
Weaknesses: Physically somewhat weak and lacks stamina.
Prone to distraction.
Unable to read a room and tends to keep to her own, sleepy pace whether it fits the situation or not.
Strengths: Very strong-willed when it comes to long-term goals and is able to drive others to achieve their own goals.
Cool-headed.
Positive outlook.
Bio: Maria suffered from chronic illness whilst growing up on a farm in the countryside of England. She was home-schooled by her parents. The isolation of living in the country combined with being kept inside by her illness meant she could only dream of the world outside and paint. So, over the years she developed her artistic skills, painting more and more accurate depictions of the world that she could only catch glimpses of. When her illness finally began to clear up at age 17, Maria was determined to see all the strange and wonderful things the world has to offer. Everyone around her seemed to agree that New York was a magnet for the weird and wonderful, especially recently. After 5 solid years of commissions and odd jobs, Maria had earnt enough to make her way to the Big Apple. Having bought a cheap apartment on the edge of New York, Maria steps off of her flight. She’s ready to start her bizarre adventure.
