Okay everyone, the site was, as you may have noticed, recently down for maintenance; though this wasn't done due to a mere whim!
Recently, I've added an addition to the rules that allows us all the ability to Liquid RP which, to some, might sound rather strange. I'll attempt to define it for those who are both unfamiliar with it or who have had little experience with it!
Liquid Roleplaying, also known as "Liquid Time Scheme" is a type of role playing method in which each topic on the present forum/RP board follow their own individual timelines. To make this simpler, each topic can be placed at any point in time on the timeline. I could make a topic with David and Hammer that could take place a few days after the fight with Dr. E/Windsor, or neon could make a topic with Dana that takes place a few days before she met Hammer; it's all up to you! What makes this a bit more interesting is that it allows your characters to RP in multiple topics at the same time, since the topics aren't always directly connected. That being said, the topics have to make some sense. If Carlo Cannero loses his arm in one topic, then in any topics that take place after that event he has to still have lost his arm; though it can be stated that it has healed since the event.
Due to the above rule, this means that the "Location Statistics" are now null-and-void except for the overall Panic Level and a few other things that will be kept.
Now, onto posting!
You may have all noticed that the previous topics (usually named "ACT I") have all been deleted or renamed; that's because I'm also instituting a new policy regarding posting!
Since the forum is now going to act on a "Liquid" timeline, all users will now be able to create their own topics for them to interact in, whether it's with a GM, another player(s), or both! This doesn't mean that you're restricted to creating only one topic, and it also doesn't mean that you can't join someone else's!
Firstly, to create a topic just hit the 'Create Thread' button up on the top-left. Once you do that, you've got a few options to go with here!
Firstly, come up with a snazzy name for your topic! It doesn't have to relate wholeheartedly to what the point of the topic will ultimately be. Next, if you've already discussed with another member(s) about them joining the topic, then list their username off. If you'd like for the topic to be only between you and them, then only list off their usernames. If you'd like to create a topic for anyone to join, then just say "open" in the Players section. If you'd like for there to be a specific member in the topic with you (and they've agreed) but you also want to keep it a bit interesting, then list their name and also keep it "open" as well!
If you'd like for there to be a GM in the topic to guide things along, then just type in GM: Open and either myself or Hammer will adhere to your request!
Here's a good example of what I'm talking about: bizarrerp.freeforums.net/thread/24/rumble-scrapyard
Any questions should be directed here in this topic, or via PM to either myself or M.C. Hammer!
