Name: Remington Rose Haze
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Occupation: Student
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: Remington is a small girl, only standing at 5'3 with a slim and petite, umatured build. A flat chest, barely a hint of a figure, and a lack of make-up with a boyish hair cut usually lead people to think Remi is a boy until she corrects them. Remington is also rather plain looking. Simple blue eyes, lips always bent in a slight frown, and the rest of her face covered by her messy bangs, it's easy for Remi to blend into the background and get lost in the noise of a scene. Due to her shy nature, she naturally has her gaze and head pointed down and hands clasped together. The one thing that stands out about Remi is her partial albinism, rendering her hair white and skin incredibly pale. Remi has her hair cut short to just above her chin and usually leaves it in a messy style with her bangs dropping over her face and covering most of her features.
Clothing Appearance: Remi doesn't go out of her way to stand out, if anything she seems to do the exact opposite. Remi prefers to wear a loose, black turtleneck shirt coupled with a pair of unimpressive dark gray jeans and a set of black lace-up ankle boots. The most colorful part of her appearance would be the union jack printed on the toes of her boots and the metallic glint of a gear ring on her right ring finger, steampunk in design.
Personality: Remi is an incredibly sensitive and shy individual, easily put under pressure and manipulate. She easily loses her cool and becomes flustered in social situations, sometimes to the point of tears, and tends to doubt herself at everything she does. Because of this, Remi often limits herself and has a very poor perception of herself, making it all the harder for her to socialize and speak up. When it comes to problematic situations, Remi will often times choose to run away from them rather than solve them. She doesn't think she has the strength to be able to deal with them, and so she convinces herself that the best option is to submit and quietly go along with what comes next, even if she doesn't agree with it. Remi also has a very honest nature, finding it hard to lie and conceal her emotions as well as to break promises. Because of this, she can become very upset when others do such things, but she'll never breathe a word about that. It's hard for her to express her thoughts and opinions on things as she tends to stumble with her words. Remi relies on others to speak for her, and she hates that part of herself with a passion.
She firmly believes that the good of the group comes before the good of the individual, and so puts the needs and wants of others before her own and willing to suffer in silence if it makes someone else happy or can help advance something. She is willing to sacrifice herself not only for the good of others, but because she believes she is not worth much and cannot give much to the group other than this.
When she has time to herself, Remi will often times spend it either on the internet talking to friends on IMS or doing one of the few things she enjoys with her heart; ballet, piano, drawing, or reading. She can spend hours on a single song or book, even longer dancing in the small space of her room or drawing a scene in her mind. In these isolated moments, Remi isn't afraid to express herself and drops all the barriers she puts up. However, even the slightest interruption can bring these walls back up and haver her slip back into her shell in a flash.
Weapons/Tools: Well....it would hurt if you got punched with her right hand, since she has a ring on....but other than that, Remi doesn't have a weapon besides her stand.
Skills: You want someone who can disappear into the background? Remi's your girl. The girl is as unnoticeable as a needle in a hay stack when she wants to be (and that is usually)! If there's a word you want to know, Remi is a walking dictionary. Unless you want to know street slang, in that case Remi is the absolute last person to ask. The girl has nimble fingers as well from her piano playing and great coordination and timing.
Are they a Stand User: Yes.
Quotes: "Uhm...I-I'm down here...." "I guess that's okay..." "I'm sorry but....I was reading..." "U-Uh, I don't think that's an appropriate thing to ask. N-Not that I'm trying to call you rude!" "Could you maybe leave me alone for a bit..? I don't feel like talking right now..."
Their Goal: She'd like to stop hating herself for one thing, possibly learn to speak up and gain some confidence as well.
Their Secret: There are literally no bra's her size, she's too flat chested. As of now, she just ties a wide fabric scarf around her chest as a make-shift one, this only makes her look flatter though.
Weaknesses: The girl is easily manipulated due to her shy and insecure nature, quick to bend to pressure and easily knocked off her feet emotionally. She doesn't have the strength to stand up for herself, even if she knows it will lead to something bad, her voice mutes itself and she can't get the words out. Remi also lacks physical strength, making it very easy to overpower her if you corner her.
Strengths: Balance! Years of ballet has developed her coordination and her balance is on pointe! ....kill me for making that pun. Remi also seems to be good at keeping up with high speed situations, her piano skill making that possible, and is a very observant person.
Bio: There isn't much to say about Remi, really. She grew up with an average dad from Manhattan, and a plain mother from Moscow. Being an only child, Remi grew up with some heavy expectations. Her mom had been a ballerina and so pushed the activity onto a five year old Remi, privately teaching her. It wouldn't have been so bad, really, if her mother hadn't been a stern woman by nature and a bit of a perfectionist. During lessons, her mother was a teacher first. Always. Remi was given harsh critiques and often times worked to exhaustion doing just one exercise, and even then sometimes her mother would be displeased with her footing or transitions. Remi's father wasn't much better. The man was a well-known author and was very well-read and knowledgeable on many subjects, Remi often found it hard to talk or be around him as the man had a way of unknowingly make her feel inadequate or inferior. Mother and father Haze, noticing her developing shyness, tried to increase her confidence by having her learn a new skill, the piano. It didn't really work out the way they hoped. Remi often times compared herself to the other piano students her teacher taught, heavily judging herself and convincing herself she wasn't as good as the other kids but keeping silent about her thoughts, she really only kept on with the lessons so she wouldn't disappoint her parents. Often times little Remi would cry herself to sleep at night, curling in on herself and letting her harsh thoughts jab at her and doing nothing to stop them. Things stayed like that for awhile....until something strange happened.
One night, after a particularly frightening day when she couldn't get a step right and mother had gotten a bit impatient with her, she had been curled up in bed and quietly sobbing as usual when she felt a hand set itself on her shoulder. Knowing her parents where asleep and that it couldn't be one of them, she jumped and rolled away from the hand to turn and face the intruder. As soon as she saw the glowing eyes and long nosed mask of the figure, Remi began to think of a thousand different ways she'd die that moment. The masked figure only stared, waiting for her to gulp the lump in her throat before it quietly reached out for her again and set its hand on her cheek, using a thumb to wipe away a few stray tears in a caring manner. Remi broke down at the act and the figure climbed into the bed and pulled her into a hug. The figure started appearing every night after that, doing what it could to comfort her before she fell asleep.
As time went on, it seemed that Remi became more and more attached to the strange figure that came to her every night. Whenever she need a distraction from life, she would hide away in her room, close her eyes, and pray for the nameless figure to appear, each time smiling as she would open her eyes and find it sitting in front of her with a comical tilt of its hooded head. Remi would spend the time discovering new things about it and marveling at what it could do, inventing new things for it to do to see if it could actually do them as well as showing the figure what she could do as well. It seemed to become like a parent to her, taking care of her and comforting her whenever she would need it. Things were okay for awhile.
Then came middle school.
The bane of her life! Remi was constantly bullied because of her shy nature, often taken advantage of, and there was always a bit of gossip about how she cried in class when the teacher asked her a question she didn't know the answer to floating around. That's when Remi began to hate herself and pull away from people completely, spending more and more time in her room alone with the figure she had by then named "Mellow Gold" after a music album she liked, relying on it to comfort and distract her from her daily life. Eventually, Mellow Gold seemed to have become fed up with all the stories she would tell it about the other kids at school. It appeared one September day when a boy had been pushing her around in the hall after she'd left class to go get a drink from the water fountain. As soon as she fell and hit the tiled floor of the school, Mellow Gold appeared out of thin air with a hiss and shoved her bully back with enough fore to send him down the hall a good few feet! Needless to say, the kid bolted as soon as he got back up, crying and screaming about some ghost as he took off down the hall. Remi took off back to class before anyone decided to step into the hall and see what the hell had gone down. Ever since that day, Mellow Gold began to pop up whenever someone tried to pick on her, sometimes even sticking around for an entire day to make sure Remi would be fine. Bullying stopped quick as soon as Mellow began to do that, and Remi became known as the Ghost Girl who would use her super spooky powers on you if you so much as bumped into her in the hall.
As of now, high-school is going a hell ton better than middle school. People usually overlook her and she goes unnoticed, teachers sometimes forget she's even in their class, and most people couldn't tell you her name for the life of them! Everything is just dandy and normal for her!
( Okay seriously if I try to make another character after Remi and her stand, stop me. Please. )
